15. Multiple Choice Questions Set 1 with Answers and Rationale

  1. I did your AP multiple choice set 1, and I got all of the same answers as you except for question 3. I was slightly confused by the explanation you gave as the answer and why e is not the answer choice. I think that you picked a very good passage on which to do a multiple choice set because there was enough happening within the passage to create various and different questions while not overwhelming the reader. I really liked all of your questions as well because they did apply to the prose passage and they were clear and to the point. There was enough complexity within most of the questions so that the reader would have to think, but they could still find the correct answer within the passage. The passage also dealt with many of the overall themes of Crime and Punishment, such as religion and fear, while incorporating Dostoevsky’s language.
I would better this set by adding even more complexity and thought into a question or two. Most of the answers to the questions are very short and to the point, while on the AP exam, there will be longer and more developed answer choices. If you lengthened the answer choices in question 4 to explain in more detail what the author is trying to say, the AP multiple choice will be very similar to the actual AP exam questions.
